Sugar Molds are wood relics that often feature multiple holes for storage ~ did you know that the original purpose of these clever decorator objects was very utilitarian? The sugar molds were initially used for storing cane sugar in the days of the great frontier. Sugar was packed into solid molds and kept in the wooden molds to keep out pests {worms, ants & roaches}. Whenever someone wanted to get sugar they would pull out a hard mold, scrape off what they wanted to use, then put the sugar back into the molds.
