{Rustic * Western * Vintage} CEILINGS
I was looking through some old magazines and came across the image {BELOW}. I LOVE that ceiling!! The old barn wood makes the vaulted ceiling look rich and interesting. It’s not the first place you normally think about making a statement in a room… but maybe it should be.
WHAT KIND OF INTERESTING CELINGS HAVE YOU SEEN OR PUT IN YOUR HOME??
WHICH OF THESE IS YOUR FAVORITE??

This image is from the kitchen of Robin Brown {aka Magnolia Pearl}. Her home was pictured in Country Living back in 2005 and it’s pretty spectacular. Definitely one of a kind!! This old ceiling tin in the kitchen is just the tip of the iceberg. She has a book out now {BELOW} with tons of other ideas that you could adapt to any style of decor… great for inspiration!!

A cathedral devoted to NATURE…

Love this idea for adding to a work space or kid’s room… the pressed leaves are so pretty… it would also be fun to have kiddos draw pictures of clouds and have those pinned to the ceiling.

Check out the BRICK CEILINGS in these lofts in Boston… sold.

Muraled ceiling from Apartment Therapy. Now this is a laundry room that could give you a little JOY.

Ceilings don’t get much better than this in my book. Dreamy.

Sometimes I look at images of these chippy peely white rooms and feel like they are way cool but lack some oomph. Painting the floor ~ and the CEILING ~ apple green is just the right way to add some zing back into this neat little space.

Ceiling lined with old old doors. It’s fantastic.

Galvanized metal ceiling. We had this in a kitchen once, and my in-laws have it in their tack room/living room. We have added a coat of muriatic acid to wash it down and rust it up. {Just use the acid with caution.}

My favorite. Also my husband’s favorite which means that maybe… someday.

How interesting! That first picture, the one of the bedroom? I could just move right in! I have often pondered doing something with our ceilings. We have a couple of cathedral ceilings, but they only pitch in one direction. they are covered in that nasty popcorn stuff. I’d love to know what they would look like if you took the drywall off and exposed the beams and joists, then painted them all white? Might be a bit too much destruction for curiosity’s sake. I’ve also thought of covering them in bead board. Thanks for sharing these great pics/ideas! !Leena~
