ROUND TOP {Spring 09}: Marburger
This week I’ll be finishing up my stories from Round Top Antique Week… just a few more that you will LOVE, then next week I’ll be back on schedule with an Open House, new Sponsors, and a Cowboy Baby GUIDE…
No trip to Round Top Antique Week is complete without a day at Marburger Farm. Marburger Farm is another of the 60+ shows that takes place every spring and fall during this prime~time shopping extravaganza. Located on 40 acres of land, half way between Warrenton and Round Top {MAP}, Marburger has over 350 dealers in a DOZEN historic buildings, plus NINE football-field sized tents.

So what do they sell at Marburger Farm?? Anything and everything ~ from high end European antiques, to vintage linens, mixed media artists, and salvaged materials that have been lovingly re~used as charming housewares. In addition to top notch dealers with beautiful and unique inventory, the dealers also offer stellar merchandising that will give you a MILLION new ideas. No detail is left undone at Marburger, from delish food to golf carts available for easier shopping, it really is like walking into a magazine…

One of my favorite dealers at Marburger is always Hot Tamale Antiques. Owned by Jan Orr-Harter, Hot Tamale Antiques is a charming mixture of colorful ANTIQUES, significant FOLK ART, Western kitsch and JOY.

I enjoy visiting with Jan and listening to her take on what is happening in the marketplace, she has her finger on the pulse of what is coming next, as well as what makes today’s offerings special. {For more about Hot Tamale Antiques visit Jan’s website HERE.}

Industrial~styled antiques were HUGE at Round Top this spring; these drawers {ABOVE} from Hot Tamale Antiques were a great example of what was being offered in the marketplace. I would love to see these Industrial Drawers in a Dining Room holding linens and flatware; or a Dressing Room for storing jewelry and lingerie. PERFECT for an Urban Farmhouse or Modern Lodge. I also LOVED the ‘Lone Star’ sign {BELOW}…

** NOTE: Marburger Farm isn’t just open for Round Top Antique Week, it is also a wonderful place for a RUSTIC WEDDING, family reunion, or corporate retreat. The quiet, peaceful and charming setting is ideal for creating a unique event that EVERYONE will enjoy. Even better, Royer’s Round Top Cafe is just a blink away for KILLER catered food. A few pictures {BELOW} to wet your appetite… Click HERE for more information!!
