ROUND TOP {Spring 09}: Ivy’s Boot Purses
This spring at Round Top Antique Week I was even more aware of the trend to ‘re-use, re-vamp and re-cycle’. Isn’t this what antique dealers have been doing for years?? Ivy’s Boot Purses are the consommate delivery of taking something old and discarded, and making it new again.
Everywhere she goes Ivy collects vintage boots and belts, then takes them back to her workshop to create one of a kind purses that epitomize cowgirl style. In addition to her flea~market cowboy boots Ivy also takes custom orders, these are a great way to use your pappy’s old boots. In fact my hubby has some custom made boots that would make great Boot Purses… Oh, hubby!!
This Spring at Round Top Ivy also showcased her newest products, Ranch Diva Pillows {below}. The phrase ‘Live it, Love it & Enjoy the Ride!’ and the title ‘Ranch Diva’ began rolling around in Ivy’s head last year. Finally she commissioned these pillows to premiere at Round Top {Spring 09}. They are velvet pillows and the words are hand beaded. They are well made and just perfect for your favorite ‘Ranch Diva’!!
