Round Top ANTIQUE WEEK {Fall 09}: thoughts & trends from Warrenton
A few more pics from Warrenton {one of the towns that is FULL of flea market treasures} during Round Top Antique Week…

Industrial. It’s still HOT, I still LOVE it. I just can’t get enough of the idea of mixing clean, modern~esque lines with rough vintage leather and western cowhide. What do you think… love it or hate it??

Over the summer Paloma from La Dolce Vita blog wrote about whether or not Pottery Barn should be selling “vintage” through it’s catalogs. It’s an interesting argument, personally I think that when a big box retailer starts selling something that is “vintage” it becomes rather blah and attainable to me… spurs me into finding something fresh and new for the store, my home and decorating clients. Demijohn bottles { just like these that I saw last week} were the subject of her post… check it HERE. Thoughts anyone??

Letters. I’ve had a love affair with vintage signs since I hit my first antique mall as a teenager. I remember driving from College Station TX to an antique store in Waco TX to make layaway payments on a $30 Railroad Sign when I was in college. And I do love the old yellow sign in the image above… but the LETTERS. Sorry y’all but I’m tired of ‘em… you??

Love all your pics from the big show! I love the industrial look mixed with western too. And as for the Pottery Barn thing…when I see something in a PB catalog that I already own I think wow they finally got it! Must have been looking in my windows! And as far as items being mass produced…how do you know that wooden dough bowl you just bought at Warrington was an original? Just because there was only one in the booth doesn’t mean there wasn’t 100 in the booth where the dealer shopped. I think if you like the look it doesn’t matter where you get it! Although PB usually is much higher than the flea market! Keep the good pics coming!

Usually if i can get it in a catalog i no longer find it appealing (unless i’m looking for a lower priced reproduction to satisfy my need of something that will not last the times)
But I’m still diggin letters but only because I want a big red one for the front of my little house. Just need a little somethign obnoxious ;-)
I think you need that big yellow arrow to perch on top of a new barn!!! OR maybe on the store???
